Rack is strong!! The cross rails are stronger than I thought!! They are designed like oem roof rack cross bars (but stronger) making it easy to add attachments vs. other bed racks I have had. I am impressed! Only down fall was the instructions, but thats usually how it goes with big ticket items, better instructions than some. Does not take away from the overall quality build and look of this rack!!

A solid rack & well built. Put it together by myself and took 4 1/2 hrs, with good instructions I could cut that time in half.

I will start with the part I was most unhappy with and that's the instructions. They are pretty poor and ambiguous at best. To provide a little background, I am new to the XRS Overland Xtreme Rack as I am transitioning from a full-height XPLOR bed rack from Rebel Off-Road. I decided to make the switch primarily to reduce weight and the extra utility that the 4-core system provides. I just completed the install and have not mounted my gear yet, but overall I am curious how sturdy and reliable the rack will be when off-roading with a full-gear load-out. The upper multi-core cross bars have me concerned the most as they use those 1/4x3/4 button screw. My concern is they will not support the weight of an iKamper 2.0 despite the specs indicating so. I just do not have the data or time on the trail to increase my confidence yet.
All-in-all, I love the look; the combination of utility and a lighter bed rack makes this an ideal product for those looking to save weight. I am looking forward to hitting the trails this year and capturing more data on the XRS.

I wish I would have thought about this more before my purchase. The inability to use a tonneau cover is a big drawback to this rack. I love everything else about this rack, it's durable, well-made, and has a ton of functionality. I am going to have to get pretty creative though without being able to use my tonneau when traveling. I know tonneau covers don't completely eliminate theft, they definitely deter the average person from at minimum reaching in and snagging what they want out of your truck bed when no one is looking. I also do a lot of winter trips so now I am going to have to figure out a good way to keep my gear from getting snow/ice build-up. I hope the designers and engineers think about this lack of function in future products. Having a cover is kind of a big deal fo a lot of us.
